This is a very reliable Webmail service similar to the general feeling of the Hotmail 2010 update. If you spend a lot of time using Gmail just like me (Time Machine Editor) it certainly can not give you 100% satisfaction. However, it is time to take the time to learn about the new options that will make a difference.
Here are some new features:
Yahoo says the new version of Yahoo Mail is twice as fast as its predecessor. It's pretty fast and we will not have to see the words "Loading ...." Appear on the screen like Gmail.
Quick reply (similar to Gmail but easier to see). You can quickly reply to an e-mail and Facebook message without having to click Reply. Yahoo Mail is smart enough to forward your responses to comments on Facebook.
Like Hotmail, Yahoo Mail allows live streaming of image links as thumbnails and slideshows. This feature is designed to work with both Flickr and Picasa online photo albums (though not in the trial with Picasa).
One feature that was available in the old version of Yahoo Mail is the support for applications coming from third-party add-ons to provide more new features. For example, AutomaticInstall of OtherInbox is similar to Gmail Priority Inbox. All My Receipts sort and categorize non-priority messages such as newsletters, offers, coupons, and applications that allow you to send large files to YouSendIt.
Yahoo Mail has a great feature that Gmail and Hotmail still lack: When you open multiple e-mail, they appear in separate tabs to be able to move to other e-mail more easily in the mailbox. This new version has turned off the e-mail preview window in the inbox (but you can turn it on if you want).
Some limitations:
The appearance of Yahoo Mail caused a bit of unease, especially the color of the application bar along with Yahoo's huge logo at the top. You can choose different themes for Yahoo Mail, but they are mostly different in color.
Another similar note is that you may want to leave the word TRENDING NOW in the upper right corner because it links to your non-e-mail address somewhere on Yahoo.
Just like Hotmail, Yahoo Mail is creating problems by cramming ads into an area on the right hand side. That's causing distraction, which is often distracting and makes performance less effective than Gmail using only text ads. You can remove these ads for $ 20 a year.
. Yahoo + AOL = Oath
. Change Yahoo password
Users wishing Yahoo Mail could mimic Gmail's idea of archiving and instant access to messages contained in mailboxes. You can also accomplish this by creating a directory (Archieve).
This version of Yahoo Mail has had the most improvements over the years, and this could be one of the reasons for the increasing dominance of Gmail users in the United States (both Yahoo Mail and Homail). has a larger number of users than Gmail). But it can not affect all Gmail users because after all, Yahoo Mail does not try to deliver the most special features (especially when compared to the tests in GmailLabs) but the interface is coherent and less cluttered.
Will I have to give up Gmail to use Yahoo Mail? The answer is: "Not now". I'm currently using Google Apps hosting features, so I can create a separate Gmail interface for my domain and integrate email with Google Docs. Another reason is, I really like the mobile version of Gmail on my iPhone, iPad, Android phone and tablet. I also used Gmail's built-in Google Voice smartphone (that's the only way to make and receive Google Voice calls on a computer). And a lot of interesting things in Gmail, such as direct viewing of PDFs.
Although not yet converted, but still impressed with Yahoo Mail. Maybe, I will forward my e-mail account to Yahoo Mail to be able to "tinker" more. It is great to see both Yahoo and Microsoft are making their commitments to consolidating their Webmail service better for the user. Over the years, it seems Google is the only company to recognize the potential of Webmail but this service has also been much better in the past ...
